What I Really Think About Baby Schedules

5 Reasons I Love My IUD

Two weeks ago I got my IUD put in. And to say I was scared to death would have totally been an understatement, but I went through with it because I know it was something I needed to do.

We are not in a position to afford anymore kids, and I think my sanity would go flying right out the window. But that is totally besides the point.

I went on a Wednesday my husband had off from work, which just so happened to be the day before Thanksgiving as well, and of course I was able to join my family the next day for our annual feast with minimal pain.

Saying Goodbye to Toddlerhood

Sunday marks my first born son’s fourth birthday. He will be leaving the official world of toddlerhood and heading into I guess what we can call childhood.

It seems like yesterday he was born, and how he is a pre-schooler who has the vocabulary of a ten year old and can sass me more than any normal child.

We are celebrating with a Build-A-Bear birthday party because his request for all his friends to come to his party really exceeded the maximum capacity of our house.

Check Up Turns Into a Trip to a Specialist

My little girl had her check up at the pediatrician yesterday. She is seven months old, 16 pounds, and grew almost three full inches since her last trip.

Her development is all on point, and everything was going fantastic till the pediatrician looked at the back of her head and asked me if I would take her to a crania-facialspecialist because the back of her head is too flat and she may actually need a helmet.

My Toddlers Locked Me Out

I took on the grocery store with three children in tow on Thursday. All was fun and games till it came time to unload my mini-van.

Since we live on a semi-busy main road I escorted the boys to the house, turned on the TV in the living room and explained to them,like they had not heard it 80,000 times before that they needed to wait in the house, safely, while I unloaded the car.

Old School Discipline or Child Abuse?

Washing your mouth out with soap… I bet you that you were there at one point in time as a child. Soap, hot sauce, whatever could get your parents point across when words were no longer enough right?

Last month I saw on the news a woman who was arrested for putting hot sauce on her son’s tongue as a form of punishment. While I didn’t look at the actual full story, or follow up with it… I started to wonder what the line is these days when it comes to parental discipline?
