5 Reasons I Love My IUD

Two weeks ago I got my IUD put in. And to say I was scared to death would have totally been an understatement, but I went through with it because I know it was something I needed to do.

We are not in a position to afford anymore kids, and I think my sanity would go flying right out the window. But that is totally besides the point.

I went on a Wednesday my husband had off from work, which just so happened to be the day before Thanksgiving as well, and of course I was able to join my family the next day for our annual feast with minimal pain.

The Mirena is Placed

I did it... after I hummed and hawed for a couple months... actually 6 months... I got my mirena put in this past week.

I had heard horror stories, and super positive stories, but there was no middle ground. People either loved or hated their IUD, and I felt like I was going into it with the most information I could collect. Although I was still hesitant.

Knowing we aren't in a position to have anymore kids anytime soon, I just went for it. Sucked it up, and made the appointment for my husband's day off from work so I knew if I felt really shitty he could take care of the kids.

I Don't Get a Period... And it Freaks Me Out!

While it may be way too much information for some, I know there are some mothers out there who are in the exact same boat that I am!

Between birth control, and breastfeeding I haven’t gotten a period since my postpartum bleeding stopped months ago.  This leads me to a damn near anxiety attack every month when like clockwork I don’t get a period.
