7 Ways To Boost Your Breast Milk Supply

In the past with my older boys, I have had supply issues when it comes to breastfeeding. In fact with my oldest supply issues ended my breastfeeding relationship earlier than I would have liked!
My middle son was just a nightmare to nurse and that is just a different story altogether.
With Addison thankfully we only had a couple minor bumps in the road. But I wanted to write something up about boosting your supply if it is something you need to do.

6 Boys, 1 Girl, and Breastfeeding on a Hay Ride

Yesterday our family made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We  have a great one right here in our own town that people travel over an hour in any direction to come to, so I consider myself super lucky!
I met up with my good friend Hillary and her four boys. Yes, four… Ranging in ages 9 to two. In fact her two youngest boys are the same age as my two boys.
Needless to say, seven kids in the pumpkin patch turned into quite theinteresting and fun day!   Doesn’t Addie just look like every one of those boys is dotting on her?  Heck they are all staring at her in the picture!    (That was the best group shot we got!)

Its Official: I Dumped My Nursing Cover

I love my nursing cover. It has done good by me since Addison was born this spring, but I think it is time I hung it up.  Not because it wasn’t one of the most helpful products I used with my daughter, or because I don’t love the handmade cupcake pattern.   I just think I have outgrown it.
I got my nursing cover from Maxwell Dean Designs, and the quality and flexibility of the cover itself was amazing. And super easy to wash. Lets face it, that thing ended up with a lot of fluids on it. Breast milk, spit up … the list goes on.

Hey! Are You Breastfeeding?

I’ll admit it – I have the urge to ask this question whenever I run into a pregnant woman or a new Mom.  Not because I have intentions on being all militant and key her car in the parking lot for choosing to formula feed, but because I have this overwhelming urge to help everyone.  I see these women and immediately want to hook them up for breastfeeding success.  It’s more of a blessing than a curse, if you ask me!
When I do have the chance to sit down and talk to someone about nursing, I tend to tell them …

Scrapping the Boob Pads

I have a love/hate relationship with breast pads. You know … those things you find randomly stuck to pieces of laundry when you pull a load out of the dryer, or just the bottom of your foot at 3am when stumbling to the bathroom.
About a month ago, when I really noticed my breast milk supply finally becoming stable, I decided to scrap the boob pads. I think I waited longer than most do, so I started thinking … how long do other women who are breastfeeding wait to drop the boob pads?

Do Babies Really Need a Keurig?

Just when I thought I have seen it all, the world of baby products surprises me with yet another completely unnecessary product. But this time it is one so fancy it is almost guaranteed to undermined the breastfeeding relationship before it even starts!
Of course it was introduced back in May, but I just came across theBaby Nes myself while I was looking for ways to help boost my own breast milk supply.
Now this isn’t a post about why mothers should or shouldn’t breastfeed or formula feed. It has nothing to do with the age old mom war. It is really more about… how far is too far?
And what kind of products, like the Baby Nes sabotage breastfeeding relationships before they even start.

Are Breastfed Babies More Attached to Their Moms?

Are breastfed babies more attached to their mothers?

This is something I continue to ask myself as it seems like my daughter is getting more and more attached to me as the days go on. To the point where she has even cried when my mother held her!

I breastfed my oldest son, and he would go to downright anyone!  He still will, we always joke that if any child would wander off with a stranger, it would be him.
Of course I know there is nothing funny about that though...
