You Ready for Halloween?

Halloween is almost upon us!  And it just happens to be one of my favorite holidays of the year.  I mean, who doesn't love Christmas, and your own birthday... but as someone with a weak spot for horror movies and ghost stories... Halloween is like Christmas for me!

I have been collecting little Halloween treats from coloring books to crayons for a "Halloween Basket" to leave out for the kids Halloween morning.  Am I one of the only people that turns an Easter tradition into a Halloween treat?

I just can't help it!   It is my favorite time of the year.

Now if I could just get my three year old and and two year old to decide on costumes for the year.

I came across a lot of neat treat and decoration ideas on Pinterest this season, and I wanted to share some with the readers here.  Click on the photo itself to link directly to the site it comes from!

Worm ice from Martha Stewart... Of course I wish I could be more like her. Don't we all a little bit?
This would make for a great party treat, or even just a neat way to give out actual ice cubes at a Halloween party for kids or adults!   I certainly know if I had a big Halloween party for our adult friends I would make these and serve them!

Decorating!  I love decorating... And this one is really simple.  It doesn't get any simpler actually. A craft that I can actually master!   You take some rocks, or even craft jewels and then paint them with some chalkboard paint.

Once you have the base coat, you write, and draw your Halloween themed expressions on the rocks and throw them in a glass jar!   Perfect for the mantel!

Decorating pumpkins!   I am always looking for great ways to decorate our pumpkins. I saw some great glitter pumpkins, but I really liked this most.

I always ended up carving my Halloween pumpkins early and they would rot by Halloween night.  Anyone else out there do that too?    Nothing worse than a rotted Halloween decoration on Halloween!

This Halloween banner actually is my favorite!   I would love to do this... maybe next year when the boys are a little bit older and able to actually help me make these. Plus with all the remodeling and redecorating we are doing right now in our house the mantel is nothing short of a mess.

Dreams for next Halloween!

So everyone!   What are your favorite Halloween crafts, treats, and traditions?

Next week I will be posting the recipe for my traditional Halloween cemetery dessert!
