And I started to think about it from the point of view of a mother... if these mothers are openly insulting strangers on the internet with no care in the world, what kind of lessons are their children actually learning from their actions?
If they are acting this mean on the internet, one can only wonder what they are actually like in real life? Do they lash out at PTA meetings, or meetings with teachers? Are they the mother among the circle of friends who no one wants to interact with, or other parents dread a phone call from? Or are they the one who puts on a front for real life and can't wait to get home to bully some people online?
Do they openly insult other mothers in public, or is it the behind a computer screen mentality where they get big balls because they can try to be faceless on the internet.
New flash to those who think this is acceptable in any kind of manner... You look like a giant asshole. Straight up. It makes you look unstable, childish, and above all jealous!
But in reality, if women are taking part in these actions online, the repercussions will certainly overflow into real life, and then one day their kids will be those kids on the internet bullying people over facebook, or whatever new website craze there is by the time they hit high school. Then they will think OMG! I have no idea where my children learned this kind of behavior! Yeah ok!
Parents need to nip the bullying in the butt now, before it gets any more serious than we are seeing it today. It has completely escalated in just the almost 8 years I have been out of high school. And it is becoming more dangerous and deadly daily. Kids are actually killing themselves over the actions of strangers online.
Do you want to be the parent of a child responsible for a death?
Another question this whole topic makes me wonder is why... Why do these women feel the need to act like 15 year old mean girls on the computer in a sad attempt to bully, or make another mom feel bad about the choices she has made in parenting. No one is a perfect parent... not me, not you, and especially not them... so what motivates these actions?
If online bullying is taking your life over, maybe it is time to get help in real life.
Lastly... what does it accomplish?
Wow! You can sit there and be a big bully behind a computer... is that some kind of accomplishment?
Would your parents be proud of you? Is that the only way you can make friends online?
I just don't get it all.
What is your take on online Mom wars, and internet Mom bullies?
