When I think of the Holidays, I think of comfort, the comforts of being home, with family and of course... comfort food. Goodbye diet right? But the number one comforting thing around the holidays is spending time with my family I don't get to see a lot of during the year. With losses through out the year it seems like the time we get to spend is becoming more and more precious.

Christmas 2010 - Pregnant with Addie - Don't mind my chub! |
Of course we see each other through the year, but the holidays are just different. Me and her are like two kids always looking forward to my mothers marathon food fest that goes on until the wee hours of the night.
Anything from seafood to brownies, Christmas cookies to appetizers. I secretly think my mother should take over Martha Stewart's empire because Martha ain't got nothin' on my mom! Truth!
With the holidays just around the corner I am looking to the rest of my family to continue getting me through the recent loss of my sister. I am sure it will help.
What else provides comfort to me during the holiday season? Um, dude! I am Santa! I have been waiting since I found out Santa wasn't really... well real... to become Santa myself. Now I have three children of my own and the smiles on their faces Christmas morning when they see that Santa has visited and showered our home with presents is probably the best feeling ever. Comforting, warming, everything that can be described as happiness.
The holidays certainly are my favorite time of they year... Now if we could only have warmth and snow all at the same time, I would be golden.
What is comforting to you during the Holiday season?
