Chalk Board Halloween Pumpkin DIY

I went to the farm last week with my children, my bestie Hillary and her four boys and of course we got our holiday pumpkins.

It was a blast, slightly stressful, but hey... when you have seven kids, and two moms it always makes for some kind of fun right?

Anyway!  I had seen a tutorial idea on Pinterest a while back on how to use chalkboard paint to basically turn one of your pumpkins into a cute Halloween decoration you can write on.

Count down the days till Halloween, put your family name, write Welcome to your home, or simply just put Happy Halloween.  I am sure there are far more ideas of what you could put on the pumpkin though.

I think I am actually going to draw a jack-o-latern face on mine.   Neat idea right?

So I took on the taste of painting the pumpkin with my three year old while my two year old, and five month old were napping.  Oh the joys of the oldest refusing to nap anymore right?

I think he was incredibly cute doing it too. He has really gotten into painting and crafting since starting pre-school this year.  But of course I had to touch up a couple little spots on the pumpkin.   But it is a really simple, and cheap craft.  The small container of chalkboard paint was $4.95 at the craft store, and I already had the paint brush hanging around the house.

If you want to get really fancy you can always get a paint marker or snowflake paint (the white raised paint) to decorate. I was thinking about that since I still have white paints hanging around from Addison's bedroom wall letters I made in April.

Check out the finished product!
