American Patriots Acting UnAmerican

Just when I think I have seen everything that the new age American Patriots consider Patriotic, something new comes across my computer screen that makes me absolutely ashamed to be American.

Sadly, this is not something that is rare these days with the way some jackasses act about politics now-a-days.


Jezebel.com, one of my favorite reads shared a story about an American owned and operated company which actually has jobs available and could help the local economy in their area (Georgia) will not hire anyone until Barack Obama is no longer President because the owner Bill Looman is so enraged about Obama's policies.  Because we all know the only person to blame in Washington is Obama right... not congress, or anything... only the President.



Now color me confused, but if this guy is really concerned about politics, he would know exactly how desperate the people of our country, and his local area need jobs... especially if they are actually qualified to work for his company.


And his own crappy personal agenda is going to do nothing but hurt the economy when he has the chance to actually help but creating, and filling much needed jobs.


Jezebel put it best:

This accomplishes approximately dickcheese, but whatever. You show those Washington fatcats, brave but ill-informed little patriot!

Now, our family has been impacted by the crappy economy, and I have made no secret of that. Going back three years ago, my husband lost his job when the economy basically collapsed in late October of 2008. I was pregnant with our second son, a pregnancy we had planned. To say we know the impacts of his is an understatement, because we went from living comfortably to pay check to pay check. 


He was out of work for a full calendar year till he got a decent job with a $10 an hour pay cut. It was something, but it again was not something we were used to. He weathered out over two years there, at the same pay with repeated promises of raises, reviews, and even got a promotion with no monetary compensation. Something I had never heard of in my life.


This fall he quit that job. The first time in his entire life he actually resigned from a job. He put in his two weeks notice to move to a better job, but the downside was the minimum wage he had to deal with during his training period which again hurt us.


The crappy economy has hurt almost all of us. And while each day that goes by we are working back towards to life we had three and a half years ago, it hasn't been without a lot of tears.


So my only words to Bill Looman of Georgia... You are a douchebag, not a Patriot.
